Kody Lewis turned in one of the best all-around performances in the history of Northeast Tennessee high school football on Friday night.

The Unicoi County standout running back toasted West Greene for 396 yards in the Blue Devils’ 41-20 win.

“He’s a special talent,” said Unicoi coach Drew Rice. “We are just glad we have him for another year after this one.”

For his efforts, Lewis grabbed the top spot for this week’s Johnson City Press/Times News honor roll.

Kody Lewis

Unicoi County, RB

Lewis was a yardage-clicking machine against West Greene. He carried 28 times and fell just 4 yards short of a 400-yard game. He ran for touchdown of 10, 7, 22 and 15 yards. His beast mode extended to the defensive side of the ball, where he totaled 12 tackles from his linebacker position.

Cade Larkins

David Crockett, QB

In the Pioneers’ biggest game so far, Larkins tossed the ball all over the Stone Castle, passing for 305 yards and three touchdowns in a 24-21 overtime win over Tennessee High.

Carter Everett

Elizabethton, QB

Facing a defense that had not allowed a first-team score all season, Everett riddled the Greene Devils for 261 yards and three touchdowns through the air in a 35-20 loss to the defending state champions.

Easton Harrell

Daniel Boone, QB

The Trailblazers cut loose for 56 points in a win over Cocke County, and Harrell supplied much of the offense with 179 yards rushing and three scores and 44 yards passing with another touchdown.

Tyler Norris

Johnson County, LB

The Longhorns turned in a terrific defensive effort in a 57-0 win over North Greene, and Norris was front and center. He had 12 tackles, four for a loss, forced a fumble and had an 81-yard pick-6.
